We did it. We officially went under contract for a house last month! AND it is a new construction so in a few months time we will be able to move into our first home together. We didn't expect to move into a new home, yet alone see it be built. We were looking into well established neighborhoods, but we came across this new development and absolutely fell in love with the location. So after researching the builder/developer and a few more specs, we dived in and went under contract. With it being a buyer's market and historically low interest rates, we feel it's something that wouldn't have been possible for us until now. It will be nice to move into a move-in ready home and not have to worry about fixing anything for the first few years. We should be breaking ground in the next couple weeks. It's very exciting, but also quite nerve-racking. Day after day we are ready to just move already, but since we're at the beginning stages it's still pretty much a dirt lot at this point. So for now, we just wait...

That's really exciting! I hope it all goes well :) I've never built a house before, so the experience of that must be different to just switching contracts, making sure the buyer chain doesn't break and then the stress of moving in. Looking forward to seeing the progress of your build on your blog :)
