Road Racing

New year, new Livestrong kicks

2010 - I've declared a year of fitness. I've gotten back into a regular work-out routine and I'm hoping to recondition myself after all the winter/holiday hibernating :-/ I've always liked going to the gym to clear my head and destress, but soon I'll be approaching the 3-0 this year and I want to set some clear health and fitness goals. So far I've been doing some morning runs and hitting the gym a couple times a week with regular cardio and a spin class, all part of my preparation to run an 8K race in March. Yes, I registered for another race and upped the distance from the 4-miler I completed last summer. This in principle shouldn't be a problem with one more mile in the recipe, but this time I'm also running with KJ. So with him running beside me I'm hoping to improve my pace time.

I think after the 8K training and race is done, this will be 'it' as far as the road race category. I'm not one to strive for a half-marathon or marathon. I don't think my bones can keep hitting the pavement to that level. I know my limits. But I think finishing an 8K road race would be a great way to start off my 30s :)
