Double-breasted sweater

After a few evenings after work and one rainy Saturday, I finished another knitting project. This time I knitted for my soon-to-be nephew from my brother and his wife. They are expecting a boy in November so I knitted this double-breasted sweater using a soft cotton blend yarn and finished with matte blue buttons. This is the first time I've tried a woven basketweave pattern and the texture feels and looks great.

So many friends and family members are expecting this year and next. We just found out that KJ's sister is also expecting. She is due around March 2010 so still plenty of time to knit a piece for another niece or nephew :) We will have a total of seven nieces and nephews by then!

Time to give all this baby knitting a break. I think I want to knit something for myself now hehe

This pattern comes from Easy Baby Knits by Claire Montgomerie.

wow, you're so good!
a pattern definitely intimidates me. i am so scared to take a plunge and become a real knitter. :)

hooray for babies, if only they stay that way for a long time. ^-^
