I picked-up some momentum with my knitting the last couple of weekends and tonight I completed the finishing of this piece. This is always my least favorite part, the blocking, the steaming, the sewing of all the seams and loose ends, but the end product always brings a relieved smile. I am giving this sweater as a gift to a friend couple who are expecting their first child at the end of this month. The sex of the baby is a secret so I thought this light gray colored yarn was a nice unisex option. I also had some extra leather buttons that I bought last year that I could use for the one button closure, so that was an afterthought that seemed to fit nicely.
This is the first time I am trying this pattern and I'm rather pleased with the results. It will be filed away as a definite pattern to use in the future. The most tedious part I found was sewing the hood to the neck with equal fullness distributed all along the edge, but it worked-out quite well in the end. Now, time to get this little sweater wrapped-up and mailed off...just in time for baby's first Fall :)
