Is it just me, but is summer flying by very quickly? I can't believe it is already mid-August! This has been a pretty low-key summer for me. While my co-workers have been enjoying their weeklong vacations to and fro some exotic and not so exotic places, I
've been enjoying a quiet, relaxed summer in town. There's only been the occasional daytrip to either DC or Virginia Beach to visit my parents. But I've been a local hermit for the most part, taking enjoyment in the simple pleasures of summertime...
Park close to home that I've been strolling along this summer (when it's not bloody hot). Hard to imagine only half a year ago this was THE sledding spot during winter snowfalls.
I found this superb honey one weekend on a local honey hunt. Scoured a few health food stores & farmers' markets before coming across this gem. Hopefully it helps with my allergies.
Tomato harvesting galore. From the markets, my parents garden, to the share from friends and co-workers...we've been fully stocked this summer.

I know, mid august already! It's scary! Surprisingly August seems to be a lot warmer here in the UK than it was in June / July. Oooooh honey. Love local honey. Reminds me, need to start harvesting the potatoes.
