4th of july kick-off

Tonight is the kick-off of the 4th of July holiday weekend. Well since I've been sick I've been on my own sort of 'holiday', but that doesn't count. I'm almost back to 100% and next week I'll be able to return to my work. Another good thing is the hubby has a four-day weekend so we can spend all that time together :)

We don't have anything in particular planned, but that's perfectly fine. We'll just do things on the fly and see how we feel...absolute free time. I'm also still trying to get my energy level back-up after this darn cold. It's hard to believe that last week I was running on a treadmill and today I could hardly walk around the grocery store without getting winded, sad. I always get a bit worried after getting a bad cold, like how come I feel so weak for so many days? I am not one for a speedy recovery. But I am the worst relaxer when I am sick. Sure I can have bedrest and force fluids, but whenever I start to feel an inkling better, I overdo it and start doing some serious house chores and then I feel winded and woozy again. I need to just slow down and recover!

Tonight was a relaxing evening though. We watched He's Just Not That Into You. What a great romantic-comedy. One of the better ones in a long time. Lately I've been a bit disappointed with some of the ro-co's I've seen (i.e. I saw Made of Honor yesterday...save your hour and a half!). But "He's....You" was more clever and funnier. The movie looked into all kinds of relationships from married couples, longterm boyfriend-girlfriend, a desperate single girl looking for Mr. Right, etc. There were definitely a lot of awwww moments :) The movie is based on the same titled book about the rules of relationships, at least that's what it sounds like. The couples were casted pretty well, and despite the insane number of people and situations in this movie, the stories all meshed together in the end.

Anyhow, it's been a nice start to this extended weekend with a good movie night. I'm hoping though to get outside more since I've been stuck in the house all week.

If you're in the US, enjoy the 4th and the fireworks. I heard a rumor this might be my city's last year for fworks...budget cuts :( Everyone else over yonder...have a great weekend!
